How Mailtrix Protects Your Sender Reputation

June 27, 2026

A high bounce rate kills deliverability. Here's how verifying before you send keeps your reputation clean.

Why Sender Reputation Matters

When you send email, inbox providers (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo) track your behaviour. A high bounce rate signals that you're sending to bad addresses — which gets your domain flagged, your IPs blacklisted, and your campaigns sent straight to spam.

The rule of thumb: Keep bounces below 2%. Above that, you're in trouble.

How Bounces Happen

Invalid emails are the main culprit:

  • Typos (gmial.com instead of gmail.com)
  • Role addresses that are no longer monitored (info@, noreply@)
  • Accounts that were deleted after you collected the address
  • Fake emails from signups

What Mailtrix Does

Before you send a single campaign, Mailtrix checks every address against live mail servers. We remove the ones that will bounce, leaving you with a clean list.

Result: Lower bounce rate. Better deliverability. More emails in the inbox.

Best Practices

  1. Verify on signup — Use the Mailtrix API to check emails as users register
  2. Clean before every campaign — Even a list from 3 months ago can have 5–10% decay
  3. Remove catch-all cautiously — Catch-all domains accept everything, but deliverability is uncertain
  4. Monitor your risky segment — Send to Risky emails only if engagement is high

Protect your reputation once, benefit from it forever.
